The entries are sermon or preacher like, in Greek, more similar to spoken Demotic than Katharevousa, on issues such as “on superciliousness” or “on the moral edification of young people.” Germanos is Eastern Orthodox, promoting a strict adherence to the Bible and to the Patristic tradition. His rhetoric and prose draw from the long orthodox traditions of homilies.
